Catherine Thomas Johnston (B.F.A) is an actor, teacher and director. She graduated from the Ryerson Theatre School Acting Program. In her graduating year she began a professional career in theatre, film and television. Her favourite stage credits include: ‘Anita’ in West Side Story, the world premiere of ANNE, as ‘Diana Barry’ at the Young Peoples’ Theatre, ‘Mother’ in New Canadian Kid (Manitoba Theatre for Young People), and appeared as herself in The Ice Cream Store and More (Carousel Players). The show toured Canada and earned a Dora Mavor Moore nomination for ‘Best Ensemble Musical Production’. For the past seven years Catherine worked as an Acting Coach and actor in Vancouver. She appeared in many television projects including: Rain, Twilight Zone, DaVinci’s Inquest, DaVinci’s City Hall, Andromeda, Killer Instinct, the Dead Zone and Supernatural. While working, she continued studying her craft in Toronto, Vancouver and Los Angeles. Upon returning to Ontario, she continues acting, teaching and recently assisted in directing A Streetcar Named Desire and the musical Grease. Catherine is thrilled to join the WEST family
